Ninoy, hindi ka nag-iisa.
You have been such an inspiration to me,especially when you have found the
Lord in your life. May you rest in His eternal bliss and I know you are
with Him now. Please pray for the Philippines,
especially for our leaders.
Ninoy,
you're my hero. Every August 21, I would always offer a Mass for you in
your honor. You're not just a hero but a Christian hero because you
accepted the Lord Jesus Christ in your life. Now that you are with Him,
like you, I want to love Him more deeply like you did. Hindi ka nag-iisa.

Comment: I
was about 6 years old when Ninoy died.It was an unforgettable day because
of two important reasons.First, my baby sister was born in the early
morning of August 21,1983.And...Ninoy died later in the afternoon. At this
very young age,I have somewhat vague idea about what was happening in the
country courtesy of my father.I happened to assessed my father's
apprehension on the regime.I have known my father to be a patient and a
law abiding citizen.I should know because he always emphasized these
traits. However, when he speaks of how the government was running the
country during those times, you could feel in his voice the growing aura
of discontent and disappointment.I owe to my father my nationalistic
view. And I consider it to be one of his greatest impact on my being. And
part of that nationalistic view is how to be like Ninoy in aspirations and
in deeds.

Answer: Ninoy
Aquino's legacy is his life. He showed to us all that Mr. marcos' might,
money and military harassment are no match to his willingness to stand up
and suffer for his principle; his life was glorious, marked by greatness
from the very beginning; his death on the tarmac was majestic and heroic;
clearly a hero for the modern times.

Answer: His
life
Comment: Ninoy
was a great man. He loved his country and its people. He sacrificed a lot;
to the extent of giving up his own life for freddom. In dying, he has
opened the door of democracy. This open door, however, does not
discriminate anyone from entering. This means that even people with evil
deeds and thoughts can and will go through and take advantage of our young
democracy. Ninoy has done his part. It is now our turn to do our part to
prove that we are worth his life; and hence, having entered the door of
democracy. There are a number of options though. We can keep the door of
democracy open for everyone and care less; we can safeguard this democracy
ensuring that no single person will take advantage and endanger its
existence; or we can just close door and let another tyrant enslave
everyone else. As always, it is our choice...

Comment: My
eldest daughter was 5 yrs old and my son was then 3 yrs old when Ninoy was
assassinated. They barely do not have the idea who was Ninoy, the What and
Why he was killed. They often got interestingly fascinated when i told
them we had a tape recorded speech of him in boston
during his exile in the U.S., a very powerful and dynamic speech that i
replayed several times over but now gone because it was destroyed by
typhoon Nitang in 1984. Their burning interest awakened when we saw in the
t.v. during his death anniversary, his famous boston speech which a mere
minute part of it was flushed. I wondered then how could we obtain again
an audio or this time video cd until i come across this website.

Comment: great
site all in all. just a little constructive criticism. it
could use some editing. (e.g., webmaster's note really needs
a proofreading ). details in the bibliography should be
double-checked (e.g., Ninoy started his political career as
the Mayor of Concepcion, Tarlac at the eage of 21. He was 18
when he went to Korea, and umm...Korean war, wasn't that in
the 1950's? If he was there in 1945 that would make him 13
when he went there if he was born in 1932). I am not an
expert on Ninoy trivia but the facts are just inconsistent.
Hope you can improve the site honoring a really great man.
Thanks

Comment: I
was barely in school when Ninoy died. Back then the only
political figure I know was former president Marcos. My
mother worshipped her. I thought he was a good man. Until I
heard about this man who was shot at the tarmac of then MIA.
I remember my mother crying as she watched the news on TV. I
asked her who the man was. She didn't answer. She was
focused on the TV. I didn't get to know the man until the
days when almost all the people in the land gathered at EDSA
praying for Marcos to step down. And amids all the things
they were fighting for was a name. The name of the great man
killed on August 21, 1983. The name was NINOY. And i
remember the face that adorned the giant streamers the
people were waving like it was the new flag of our nation.
And vividly the face flashed back scenes I saw on TV three
years before. He was their source of hope. To think he's
already dead. And so as they say, the rest was history. And
I still didn't k! now the man. But when got older, I became
aware of what's happening in our society. The corruption of
people who ought to protect us, the poor gets poorer, the
rich accumulates endlessly. I want to do something, to make
things right. I want to gather all the demons that persecute
us and raze them for good. I wanted to be NINOY. But I know
I can't. But I believe, for our nation to be great again,
there must a be a NINOY inside of us. I still value his
greatness. It happened long ago. But the flame is still
burning. It showed me the light. And I want to tell
everyone, that as long as that flame is burning, we still
have hope. It's not too late.

formed/established which will help in spreading and
educating the people about the ideals and heroism of Ninoy

just too bad the Filipino people cannot comprehend the need
for a fair and honest government, a government that governs

that he would recoup his expenses when he gets elected. it
