Ninoy has heeded
Rizal's call as follows: "Where are the youth, who will consecrate
their golden hours; their illusions and their enthusiasm, for the welfare
of their native land. Where are the youth, who will generously pour out
their blood, to wash away so much shame, so much crime, and so much
abomination? Pure and spotless must the victim be, that the sacrifice must
be acceptable. Where are you, youth, who shall embody on yourselves the
vigor of life that has left our veins, the purity of ideals that has been
contaminated on our brains, and the fire of enthusiasm that has quenched
our hearts. We await you, o youth. Come, for we await you!"

restoration of freedom

Comment: Ninoy,
continue to intercede for us to our Lord especially for our leaders and
that our country may recover from our economic crises.
I was barely 13 yrs.old
when I learned of Ninoy Aquino's treacherous and gruesome murder. In fact,
it was barely nine months since my grandfather's death and we were still
mourning for him at that time and it tinged more sadness on my part
because a well-loved person like Ninoy was killed. I have not known Ninoy
personally but I learned about him through books and articles. For me,
Ninoy is not only a national hero but a modern-day Christian because he
followed in the footsteps of our Lord Jesus Christ. Like Mahatma Gandhi
and Dr. Martin Luther King,Jr., Ninoy was also an advocate of
non-violence, a warrior of peace. Ninoy believes that evil can only be
confronted by peaceful means and greater Christian love. It just saddens
me that most, if not all, our politicians have become self-centered and
greedy for money and power. None of them have matched the charisma and
sincerity of Ninoy. The Senate today is far different from what the Senate
was during N! inoy's time before he was arrested and amprisoned during
Martial Law. I just hope that Rep.Butz Aquino and Sen. Tessie Aquino-Oreta
will not forget what their brother had done for our country. It's been two
decades now that Ninoy's murder remains unsolved. Ninoy may be gone but
his ideals and principles lives in my heart. Like Ninoy, I have also given
my life to the Lord and it was Ninoy's unshaking faith in the Lord and
devotion to our Blessed Mother Mary that I truly admire in Ninoy most.
Ninoy, Hindi Ka Nag-iisa! - kapiling mo na ang ating Panginoon! Rest in
Peace, my brother in Christ!

His untimely death

Comment: I
will always remember August 21: The
month of August is the best time to think about this great man, NINOY
AQUINO. He was brutally shot on this day at the (old) Manila International
Airport. NINOY was coming home from exile. Tension was all over Manila.
People tied yellow ribbons around their front yard trees and their car
antennas as a sign that they support NINOY's beliefs. On that day, people
gathered around M.I.A. as early as 4am to have a glimpse of NINOY. They
were waving yellow flags and some "welcome home" banners. But
NINOY never made it out alive of M.I.A. Some say he never made it alive
onto the tarmac. I cried for this man. A couple of hours after NINOY died,
it suddenly rained on a very sunny afternoon, as if the heavens were
weeping for our great loss, too. Yes, August 21 is a day that I will
always remember as a person born and raised in the suburbs of Manila.
Though I have read many articles written by him, I have never ! met this
legend, NINOY. I have never even seen him in person, but why did i feel
like I've lost a loved one? I hope that most of you will agree with me if
I state that I feel this way because of what was done to this human being.
It was brutal. And this happened simply because a group of people wanted
to shut him up to remain in power. Years after this tragic lost happened
and while his widow, CORY was the President of the Philippines, I was in
the same Philippine Airlines flight with his late mother, Mrs. Aurora A.
Aquino, where I was the Flight Attendant. It was quite abvious where NINOY
got his positive traits. She was a very charming, very intelligent person
who talk to. She would always speak with a smile and her mere presence
magnitized attention but was always humble in so many ways. She was
exactly like her son, NINOY in one of the debate shows I have seen. I
wonder.... what if NINOY had lived? He would have made a difference in
many ways. Somehow, after so many years, I still truly feel that we have
lost a man of wisdom, compassion and courage. Always remember NINOY and
one of his phrases "If my countrymen are shedding blood, what right
do I have to shed tears?" My dream is to meet his widow, Mrs. Corazon
Aquino. To have the chance to let her know how I enjoyed meeting and
briefly speaking with her late mother-in-law, Mrs. Aurora Aquino and how
her husband truly touched my life and how it ignited my passion for a much
needed government change. Thank you, NINOY, and your family members for
the countless sacrifices you have encountered to let your beliefs heard.
God Bless you, NINOY and may you forever rest in God's peace. -Mary Ann,

really have showed us courage in the face of danger, courage in the face
